Nimbus Group AB (publ) has recently shipped the first US-ordered Nimbus 495 Flybridge to a customer in Seattle, USA. The Nimbus 495 Flybridge is the largest boat ever launched by the Nimbus brand and summarizes Nimbus' more than 50 years of experience in developing and building premium boats.
The Nimbus 495 Flybridge was presented two years ago and was shown to the public for the first time at the major boat show in Cannes last September. At the international boat show Boot Düsseldorf, it was named European Powerboat of the Year in January this year in the category of boats up to 18 meters. The award is considered one of the most prestigious in the industry, and behind the annual selection is a jury consisting of test drivers and chief editors from Europe's eight leading boating magazines with a total of one million monthly readers. In the jury's motivation for the award, it is stated that the Nimbus 495 Flybridge is very efficient thanks to the hull being designed for low fuel consumption and hybrid powertrains. Its "well-known high-quality craftsmanship and innovative spatial design" further make the Nimbus 495 Flybridge, in the jury's words, "the ideal touring vessel."
As the name suggests, the Nimbus 495 Flybridge is just over 49 feet long (about 15 meters) and is the largest Nimbus boat produced to date. The Nimbus 495 Flybridge summarizes the Nimbus Group's extensive experience in building boats adapted for various waters and combines the best of the solutions that Nimbus Group has developed since its inception in 1968. The Nimbus 495 Flybridge is an ideal boat for longer journeys and stays at sea or in the archipelago. The Nimbus 495 Flybridge is built at Nimbus Group's factory in Lugnås outside Mariestad.
"The reception of the Nimbus 495 Flybridge has been extremely positive, and the interest from customers, media, and industry professionals has been enormous. The Nimbus 495 Flybridge is a boat that has it all, and with its size and comfort, it offers a boating experience beyond the ordinary. We see a great opportunity for it in the North American market and are, of course, thrilled to now be able to ship the first boat to a customer in North America," says Jan-Erik Lindström, CEO of Nimbus Group.
