Nimbus Group is active in the market for recreational motorboats, primarily in Europe and North America under seven different brands; Alukin, Aquador, Bella, Falcon, Flipper, Nimbus and Paragon Yachts. Recreational motorboats compete with other products and services for consumers’ leisure time, for example with motorhomes and caravans, holiday homes and travel.

The global market was estimated at 460,000 recreational motorboats in 2019 with an annual growth of 5.6% CAGR from 2013 to 2019. The annual growth is expected to amount to 5.4% per year during the period 2020 to 2025.

Sales of new recreational motorboats have historically been largely correlated with general economic development. Nimbus Group expects market growth in the future to be driven by the following long-term trends:

  • Increased popularity for staycation.
  • High average age of the existing fleet of used motorboats.
